Yesterday, Charlie Kirk was murdered while speaking at an event in Utah. We may never know every detail about motive. But this much is clear: had Charlie not been boldly engaging the culture with truth, he would not have been on that stage and in harm’s way. His very presence there was an act of courage. We’ve long seen Christians persecuted in other nations. Now we are beginning to see it here. And the church cannot stay asleep. Too many of us believers have gotten comfortable in a land that is not our home. We’ve traded urgency for ease. We’ve mistaken silence for peace. But the truth is, we are at war — not with flesh and blood, but against powers of darkness. Charlie was one of those rare voices on the front lines. He had the courage to call out lies and stand firm in Christ. His heart for the gospel and for this nation was rare in a time when many shrink back. And this is where we have to remember what Charlie himself would have pointed us to: the gospel. Our hope is not in this country, in politics, or in comfort. Our hope is in Jesus Christ — who lived without sin, died for our sins, and rose again to give us eternal life. That is the truth worth living for. And it is the truth worth dying for. We can’t just shake our heads at the news and move on. We have to decide: will we stay comfortable, or will we step into the fight? “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10

From Student to Systems Leader: The IEM Journey in Action We're proud to spotlight one of our exceptional alumni and IEM Ambassador, Reginald Holmes, MEng, CSEP, PMP®, who continues to raise the bar in technical leadership and innovation. Since graduating from the IEM@UAB - Information Engineering and Management in Spring 2022, Reginald has stepped into a pivotal role as Chief Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, leading strategy and integration across advanced engineering systems. His impact was recently recognized with the Modern-Day Technology Leader Award — a national honor celebrating emerging leaders in STEM. He’s also pursuing a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, with a research focus on AI System Safety — a field shaping the future of technology and society. Reginald has presented at top academic forums including AI4SE and CSER, and his recent peer-reviewed paper: "Navigating Uncertainty: Enhancing AI System Safety through the Integration of Systems Theory and R3+ Concepts" dives into building AI systems that are not just capable — but robust, reliable, and resilient in the face of uncertainty. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e864CRUT Reginald embodies what IEM is all about: turning technical skills into strategic leadership, transforming research into real-world impact, and leading with clarity and purpose. Congrats, Reginald — your journey continues to inspire the entire IEM community.
