“AI is going to take jobs.”
That’s partially true, but incomplete.
To date, many AI pilot programs have failed or underdelivered. One recent study showed 95% of large‐company AI pilots didn’t produce meaningful outcomes.
AI doesn’t yet (maybe never) replace deep judgment, narrative, domain context, moral sense. It amplifies tasks, but it struggles with meaning.
That’s why many professionals I work with lean into roles where their human edge is central, story, relationships, framing, interpretation.
In IEM, we train not just to use tools, but to design what those tools can’t do.
To build work that survives automation.
Here’s my challenge to you:
in your role this week, spot one task AI could do. Decide deliberately whether you let it, delegate it, or reframe it.
Because what you resist might show you where your edge is.
